O Traço developed the branding of Ybá do Quintal, a school for early age kids, including naming and visual identity.
Ybá translates to "fruit" in old Tupi (Tupi Antigo: One of the oldest and most used native indigenous languages in Brazil). But Fruit, in Portuguese, not only means the fruit itself, but also it can be used to refer to when something is a product of some situation/place. for example: Ele é fruto do amor dos pais (he's the "fruit" of the love of their parents) Fruit in this context means "product".
We found this duality of the word very interesting to represent the school, once the
school has a very close to nature approach, and the children are the product (fruit) of their environment, in this case the school.
The idea for the logo was to translate the concept of the name in a visual way. With organic shapes and traces, we developed a logo that represented the children as fruits, that even though bloomed for the same branch, each had their own characteristics and particularity (shapes, sizes and colors). We’ve expanded this idea for all of the visual Identity: creating more unique shapes that were used in a series of ways, from iconography to frames.
